Upper School students in Biology, Impact, and the Zoo visited the Third Grade Science and Social Impact classroom to give feedback on their prototypes! 

This week, the Biology, Impact, and the Zoo class, a Social Impact class taught by Brandi Finazzo and Laura Day, held the sixth annual BIZ Shark Tank Pitch Contest. 

Upper School Social Impact Statistics wrapped up its data science project with a visit to Dallas Animal Services.

Sarah Weinberg, DISD Trustee, visited with Upper School's Government class this week. 

Students in Middle and Upper School held a food drive in January for Wesley Rankin Community Center and Marcus Mart, the food pantry at Marcus Elementary created and run by Hockaday students. 

Congratulations to Anika Gopal (Class of 2026), who was named the winner of the 2023 Congressional App Challenge in Texas’s 24th District! 

Seniors in Breaking the Glass Ceiling, a Social Impact designated class, headed to Hari Mari headquarters to hear from founder Jeremy Stewart about the ups and downs of entrepreneurship.  

Continuing Hockaday’s partnership with the University of Pennsylvania’s Social Innovators Academy, students met with Reilly Brooks today to talk through social entrepreneurship and how they can make their ideas come to life.
