Founder's Day Award Winners Named

This March, Hockaday named four seniors as the recipients of this prestigious award.
Congratulations to our four Founder’s Day awardees - Lily McKenna, Alyssa Anderson, Elena Zeballos, and Caroline Warlick!

This long-held tradition gives the School a chance to reaffirm Hockaday’s commitment to the Four Cornerstones of Character, Courtesy, Scholarship, and Athletics on which Miss Ela Hockaday founded our incredible School.

The recipients are honored because of the thoughts and observations of their classmates, teachers, advisors, and administrators who believe they fully exemplify the ideals of our founder, Miss Hockaday. The Student Council established the award during the 1958-1959 school year—45 years after the school was founded. This award ceremony, which is traditionally held as close as possible to Miss Hockaday’s March 12 birthday, remains largely unchanged, with personal citations read about each of the award recipients and remarks from the President of the Alumnae Association.

Thank you to Abby Hoak Morton ‘05, President of the Alumnae Association, and Maggie Parker ’07, our Founder’s Day speaker.
