Dear Friends and Members of the Hockaday Community,

We are pleased to share the Annual Report of Gifts from the 2023-2024 Fiscal Year with you. In this report, the financial strength of the School is evident, thanks to the unwavering support of our generous community and friends. The impact of gifts from across our vast network of constituents cannot be overstated. Each gift, whether to the Annual Fund, endowment, or in support of capital projects, played a critical role in bolstering Hockaday’s financial position and in enabling the School to provide an extraordinary education for its girls. Hockaday could not deliver on its mission without the annual support of our community.

Each year, at this time, we present our Annual Report of Gifts, both to remember and to recognize the significant financial support provided by Hockaday’s devoted community. The generosity of Hockaday families, alumnae, faculty and staff, trustees, grandparents, past parents, and friends during Fiscal Year 2024 is remarkable, once again. The annual support of our donors and steadfast commitment to Hockaday has made an indelible mark on our School, which will last well into the School’s future.

As you will read in the Annual Report of Gifts, our community joined together and significantly supported the School; together, the Annual Fund and the draw from the Endowment provided approximately 18% of the School’s annual operating funds, significantly bolstering Hockaday’s ability to provide a unique experience for its girls. In addition, with Hockaday’s future in mind, instrumental, new endowment funds were created, enhancing Hockaday’s long-term sustainability. We were thrilled to welcome seven new endowment funds, including two new Distinguished Teacher Endowments: The Barney Young Distinguished Teacher Endowment and The Ackerman Family Distinguished Teacher Endowment. With these additions, we now have six Distinguished Teacher Endowments, a growing legacy that enriches our faculty and community, and we are excited to continue to expand this program. In addition, with a pledge of $2.5 Million, The Rising Scholar Opportunity Fund was created to provide additional endowment support for financial aid.

Our community provides the School with the critical resources needed to create innovative and forward-looking academic opportunities and programming and to create a comprehensive student experience that prepares our girls to lead lives of purpose and impact. Thank you for your continued investment in our mission and for your generous contributions, which significantly impact the education of each Hockaday girl. We remain deeply grateful for the many ways you support the School.

With gratitude,
