A Message from the HPA President

Dear Hockaday Parents:

In three short weeks, we will all come together for everyone’s favorite all-community event of the year, HPA EXPLORE 2017 Benefit. Plans have been underway all year and I assure you that it will be a special evening honoring Liza Lee and celebrating our wonderful community! I look forward to seeing you there. Seating is limited so please buy your tickets soon! More details and ticket purchase available hereRead more

There are many ways to participate in the benefit and we hope you will! The Online Auction has hundreds of items, from gift certificates to trips, up for bidding from March 6-25. The Sewell Automotive Choose Your Vehicle raffle is going strong! Tickets will remain on sale through the March 25 drawing. Thanks to wonderful donors and chairs, the live auction and big board offerings are not to be missed. Even if you cannot be at the Benefit, proxy bidding for these items is available. Finally, there are still a few spaces open at some remaining Special Occasions events.

All proceeds from the evening support the Ela Hockaday Fund for Faculty Excellence. Because of your generosity to this Fund, Hockaday is able to attract and retain the amazing faculty that work passionately every day for our girls!

Before I close my March letter, I’d like to offer special thanks to three of our HPA Board members, our Extracurricular Activity Liaisons. These “Hocka-dads”, Mike Polosky, Jason Evans, and Mark Goglia, worked with parent coaches from PK through 6th to ensure every interested Daisy had a place on a recreational sports team, Girl Scout troop, or Adventure Princess tribe. Though this sounds like a simple task, it is a time-consuming and sensitive task. We are all deeply indebted to these parents for performing this role with efficiency, creativity, and heart! Thank you!

Thank you to everyone for all that you do for this community. Enjoy your Spring Break and I look forward to seeing you at the benefit!

With gratitude,
Katharine Friguletto
