A Letter from Anna McPhail

Dear Hockaday Parents,

Many thanks to those who were able to join us this morning for our HPA Kickoff Speaker Event. We were educated and intrigued by Dr. Lisa Damour’s thoughtful presentation. Throughout the day, Dr. Damour will also be addressing Middle and Upper School students as well as faculty.

Coming up this Sunday, our entire Hockaday community anticipates the Installation Ceremony of Dr. Karen Warren Coleman. We look forward to gathering together to enthusiastically welcome and honor our new Eugene McDermott Head of School. I look forward to seeing all of you there!

Also this month, nominations for the 2018-19 HPA Executive Committee are underway and open through October 20. Please consider nominating or self-nominating for these leadership positions. See the article in today’s Daisy News for more information on the nomination process and the available positions.

In Benefit news, we are excited for the launch of the Special Occasions Sale on October 17! Thank you so much to our Special Occasions Chair, Heather Hays, her Special Occasions Committee, and the over 90 generous host families for organizing and donating 19 unique celebrations to bring our community together. There is something for everyone! Prices range from $25-$200 for these fabulous events and all proceeds will go directly to the support of our wonderful faculty through the construction of the new Child Development Center.

Thank you for everything you do to support our School! Happy October!

Warm regards,
Anna McPhail
