Keeping Balance in Sports Participation – How To Maximize Your Daughter’s Talent

Join us Thursday, November 2 from 8:00 – 9:30 am for a HPA Speaker Event featuring Director of Athletics and Physical Education Tina Slinker. Coach Slinker will discuss the importance of maintaining a balance in sports participation and how to maximize your daughter’s performance in sports. She will cover key aspects of getting the most out of sports opportunities and address vital aspects of the value sports have to offer. As a coach, author, and speaker, Tina Slinker has made it her mission to touch people’s lives in a positive and affirming way, either through the one-on-one contact in a coaching environment, or reading her book, For the Love of Mom, it’s readily apparent that Tina truly cares about people. She inspires, motivates, and challenges people to get the very best out of themselves and others, and to be present to learn life lessons along the way. Tina is the Director of Athletics and Physical Education at Hockaday. Previously, she was the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, where she and her teams achieved numerous milestones, including four Conference Championships, back-to-back appearances in the WNIT, and the Big West Coach of the Year award for the 1998–1999 season. She departed as the winningest coach in North Texas women’s basketball history, posting 241 wins in 19 seasons.
