UPenn Social Innovators On Campus

Continuing Hockaday’s partnership with the University of Pennsylvania’s Social Innovators Academy, students met with Reilly Brooks to talk through social entrepreneurship and how they can make their ideas come to life.
Using real-world examples and prompts, she led small group discussions and met with students individually to talk through change-making.

For the past two years, Hockaday has partnered with the University of Pennsylvania’s Social Innovators Academy, a program that provides opportunities for students interested in merging their skills and entrepreneurship ideas with the desire to make a positive impact on society.

Rich Sedmak, Senior Fellow and Social Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Social Impact Strategy, also visited campus and was impressed with what he saw. “Hockaday students are rising leaders,” he said. “They are curious and compassionate with bold ideas to create a positive impact on their community with the tenacity to see their ideas through. They are not afraid to take risks, advocate for themselves and others, demonstrate confidence in their convictions, but also lead with humility and authenticity.”
