Third Grade Giving Garden

Third Graders in the Science and Social Impact class planted two types of kale, broccoli, and garlic last week in the Lower School garden.
The vegetables will be harvested and donated to Marcus Mart, a food pantry at Marcus Elementary set up and run by Hockaday Upper School students!

The Third Grade social impact theme is Hunger and Food Insecurity, and throughout the year they learn about access to fresh produce varies from neighborhood to neighborhood, and how community gardens can help provide fresh vegetables to those who need them.
