Fourth Grade Book Sale Success

The Class of 2033 raised $1,019 at the Fourth Grade Book Sale last month!
Fourth Grade students donate books to sell to Lower School Daisies, parents, faculty and staff, then organize and run the book sale. This project teaches them about leadership, organization, handling money, being helpful, and working together as a team.

The remaining books not sold during the book sale go to the Reading Partners organization. Reading Partners visited Hockaday to discuss their current work with Dallas and Fort-Worth ISDs and how they tutor and assist students in reading, and give away approximately 10,000 books to children who may not have books available to them at home.

Later this school year, Fourth Graders will work with the Institute for Social Impact to identify additional organizations that may benefit from their book sale donatio
