Leadership and Social Influence

Modeling Civil Discourse

Upper School students modeled their civil discourse training at an assembly in October.
Students who attended the September training led by Close Up showcased student deliberation, facilitation skills, and civic ambassadorship. Students took part in a mock deliberation about cell phone policies in schools. They introduced their peers to general practices and principles of facilitation, including how to bring unheard perspectives and hesitant students into the discussions.
