    Help Desk Technician
    Joseph comes to Hockaday from DXC Technology in New Orleans, where he worked as an XR (extended reality) developer and in IT tech desk support. He has a Computer Software and Media Applications certification from the Digital Media Institute at Intertech.

    Upper School Math Teacher
    Karla graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Math and has been a teacher in Richardson Independent School District, where she also served as department chair, and a private tutor for the past 14 years.

    Facility Event Specialist
    Adam holds a Bachelor of Arts in Event Management from the University of North Texas. Adam has stage and venue management experience and previously taught technical theater in Dallas Independent School District.

    Middle School Health and Physical Education Teacher
    Addy graduated from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and a minor in Health and Fitness. She was a student teacher in Fort Worth at Dunbar High School and Westcliff Elementary School.

    Upper School Math Teacher
    Chad is an experienced Upper School math teacher who has taught calculus, geometry, and algebra at Richardson High School since 2003. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education from Northeastern University.

    Middle School Learning Specialist
    Alejandra is an experienced dyslexia therapist and literacy teacher who was most recently a dyslexia therapist in Garland and Richardson ISDs. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Trinity University and a Master of Education in Literacy Studies and Learning Therapy from Southern Methodist University.

    Middle School History Teacher
    Katrina grew up in Dallas and received her Bachelor of Arts in History from Texas A&M University. She earned her Master of Education in Educational Administration from Concordia University Texas. She taught for 30 years in Dallas Independent School District, Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District, Highland Park Independent School District, and most recently, the Episcopal School of Dallas.

    Upper School Administrative Assistant and Attendance Coordinator
    Claudia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Southern Methodist University. Most recently, she was an administrative assistant at The University of Texas at Dallas and a registrar at Harry W. Longfellow Career Exploration Academy in Dallas Independent School District.

    Middle School Learning Specialist
    Katy holds a Bachelor of Science in Special Education from the University of Oklahoma. Previously, she worked as a learning specialist at Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences in Santa Monica, California, and as a learning and development specialist in the Wiseburn Unified School District in El Segundo, California, and the Weatherford Independent School District.

    Upper School Health Teacher
    Melanie earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California Polytechnic State University - San Luis Obispo and a Master of Science in Public Health from Columbia University. Melanie previously worked as a Middle School sexual health educator at The School at Columbia in New York City and as a research assistant at Columbia University. 
  • Simon Lee

    Upper School Math Teacher
    Simon earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Teacher Certification in Math, and Master of Arts in Teaching in Math Education from the University of Texas at Dallas. In addition to working in the financial services industry, Simon taught International Baccalaureate higher-level and standard-level math classes and served as the head of the Upper School math department at Dallas International School.

    Maintenance Staff
    Antonio is a licensed plumber with experience as a plumbing service technician at Mechanical Partners in Garland and Aire Dynamics in Irving.
  • Brody Lyons

    Upper School Math Teacher
    Brody has been in education for 10 years and was most recently the math department chair at Lake Highlands High School, where he taught statistics and calculus. Previously, he taught algebra and geometry at J.J. Pearce High School. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Texas at Austin. 
  • Dr. Shulamit Moed

    Upper School Math Teacher
    Shulamit earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics and a Master of Physics from the Israel Institute of Technology, and a Ph.D. from the University of Geneva, Switzerland. As a particle physicist, her physics education and research were conducted in world-leading institutions and laboratories, including Harvard University, the European Laboratory for Nuclear Physics (CERN), Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in Illinois and the Technion in Israel. She most recently taught at Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas.

    Executive Assistant to the Head of School
    Dorothy holds a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Berry College. She worked as a personal assistant and household manager for families in the DFW area and as an administrative assistant at Berry College. 
  • Andrea Pinder

    Private Voice Instructor
    Andrea is an accomplished soprano who has taught voice and music studies at the University of North Texas, Texas Women’s University, Dallas Community Colleges, Dallas Independent School District, and Plano Independent School District. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Luther College, a Master of Music in Voice Performance from the University of North Texas and is working on a Doctor of Musical Arts in Voice Performance at the University of North Texas.  
  • Casey Rauschuber

    Blackbaud Application Database Administrator
    Casey comes from Cistercian Preparatory School, where she served as a database administrator for nine years. She also worked in development at KERA North Texas. Casey earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Anthropological Studies from Austin College.
  • Elinor Sachs ’17

    Kindergarten Teaching Assistant
    Elinor returns to us after serving as a long-term substitute at Hockaday during the 2023–2024 School Year. Previously, she taught art at Pegasus Charter School and worked at Sotheby’s in New York City. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art Studio from Tulane University.
  • Parker Stoker

    Upper School English and Writing Center Teacher
    Parker holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Religion from Sewanee: The University of the South, and a Master of Arts in English from George Washington University. He is working toward a Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of South Carolina and was previously a teaching assistant in the English department at the University of South Carolina.

    Information Technology Manager
    Joshua is an IT generalist with 10 years of experience in a Federal contractor research environment with extensive responsibilities spanning systems administration, cybersecurity, and networking technologies, primarily in a Windows and Microsoft 365 hybrid cloud environment. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Arlington. 
  • Breanna Turnley

    Stewardship and Special Events Coordinator
    Breanna comes from St. Phillip’s School and Community Center, where she was the Individual and Alumni Giving Manager. Previously, she worked as the community and human resources liaison at the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Dillard University.

    Upper School Mandarin Chinese Teacher
    Yan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a Ph.D. of Arts in Chinese Modern and Contemporary Literature from Jilin University in China. She earned a Master's in Humanities from the University of Texas at Dallas. Previously, she was a teaching assistant at the University of Texas at Dallas and taught Chinese at Frisco Chinese School.

    Jenn became the Interim Director of Athletics this summer after serving as the Assistant Director of Athletics.

    Adaku (AD) was previously the Upper School health teacher and curriculum coordinator and will move into the Admission office and oversee Upper School admissions.

    Adriana will move from Lead Supervisor to Assistant Director of Safety and Security.
