    Bio

What do you consider to be your most significant accomplishments?
Texas Woman’s University – Athlete of the Year Award 1993
    Texas Woman’s University – Kinesiology Award 1995

Why do you teach and coach sports?
I teach physical education because I feel it is an integral part of a students overall education. It promotes an active lifestyle, improved health, motor skill development, and better cognitive performance.

I coach sports because watching young people grow and find their depth is incredibly gratifying. Teaching and learning both require great acts of courage. As teachers and coaches, we constantly ask students to take big risks: to try a new skill or a new way of thinking, to answer a question without being sure of the answer, and to reveal their true opinions. When I model courage and take the same risks that I am asking the students to take my life becomes richer, more exciting, and more exhilarating. That is why I teach and coach!

What is an interesting, little-known fact about you?
My obsession with a new sport, Disc-Golf. I played at 82 different Disc-Golf courses in two years. Now , I'm the proud owner of two "holes-in-one". Hit one from 165 feet out and most recently had one from 177 feet hit the chains…cha ching!
