    Bio
     
    Sara Harder joins the Upper School as a new English Teacher after teaching advanced placement English language and composition, freshman English, TAKS ELA and Writing, and freshman and sophomore reading at South Garland High School. In addition to her extensive experience teaching English, she has continued her professional development by participating in an Advanced Placement Summer Institute, Advanced Placement Regional Conference, Advanced Placement New Teachers Institute, and the Texas Education Agency Gifted and Talented Certification program. Sara earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Texas Tech University and a Master of Arts in Literature from The University of Texas at Dallas.

    After serving as an Early Childhood Assistant, Noreen Hussain will become a Prekindergarten Teacher in 2019-2020 and will engage in foundational learning activities related primarily to language arts, math, and social studies with Hockaday's youngest Daisies. Noreen's background, energy, enthusiasm, flexibility, and collaborative approach will serve the needs of prekindergarten students and their families as they acclimate to Hockaday and the community. In 2018–2019 Noreen was a prekindergarten teaching assistant. Prior to coming to Hockaday, Noreen taught Kindergarten as a teaching fellow at Greenhill School and has over ten years of experience educating students in various grade levels in both public and independent schools. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University with a focus on education and continues to be an avid learner through many different workshops and seminars.
    Noreen and her husband Kaz enjoy spending time with their son Ali (2), exploring new restaurants and travelling.
