A Note from HPA President Tricia Davidson

The beginning of the 2022-2023 School Year is fast approaching. It’s time to pull out those uniforms and put away your flip-flops! Whether you are sad to see the summer come to an end or are eagerly awaiting the first day of school, the Hockaday Parents’ Association (HPA) is ready to welcome you back.

While we were enjoying our summer break, Laurie Sudbury, Vice President-Elect, and the New Family Outreach (NFO) Chairs welcomed new families with exciting events and get-togethers ranging from fun at Top Golf to popsicles in the park. A big “Thank you” to all our Welcome Families. Resale Chairs, Aaron and Laura Navarro, held three very successful summer resale events and are holding the Resale Boutique open again August 22 and 23. And Vice President Bonner Allen, together with your Grade Representatives, have been planning events for the school year to bring our community and your class together!

Other members of the 2022-2023 HPA Board of Directors have also worked many hours preparing events that are sure to bring a lot of excitement to our school community. Watch for more details in upcoming Daisy News updates, and be sure to check your class pages for grade-level calendar updates and activities.

If you haven’t already, take a look at Sign Up Genius for all kinds of volunteer opportunities – check out your child’s Division and All School tabs for positions that work with your time and talents. Bookstore, Advisory Parents, Fun Day and Benefit are still looking for volunteers!

Join us Wednesday, September 21, from 8:00-9:30 am on Metzger Plaza for the HPA Kick-Off and Coffee! Meet other parents and learn about the HPA and ways to get involved! Come for 10 minutes or stay for an hour!

Welcome back everyone! I’m looking forward to a great year made possible by our wonderful faculty and staff, students, parents and all HPA Volunteers. See you around campus!
