Named in honor of distinguished Fine Arts Department Chair, beloved teacher, and Upper School Dean, The Ed Long Stage is the focal point of the Theater and is fully operational with a full fly system and sound system giving both students and faculty alike new options and ideas for performances, lighting, and technical direction.

The Theater is supported by Tech Street given by Dana and Thomas Lutz, Costume Storage and Sewing Rooms given by Shirley and Stuart Crow, choir riser storage, and the Theatrical Control Room given by the Class of 1969.

An addition to the renovated theater is The Senior Balcony given by the last two senior classes which is especially reserved for Hockaday seniors during assemblies and special events. At the front of The Nancy A. Nasher and David J. Haemisegger Theater, the beautiful Hoffman Lobby given by Marguerite Steed Hoffman is an open space that will be used for receptions and other events and can be seen from the front of the School.
