Alumnae Named Recipient of Texas Women's Foundation Award

Congratulations to Dr. Rupa (Kakarla) Desilva M.D. '91, who will be honored at an upcoming luncheon by the Texas Women's Foundation! 
She is a recipient of The Maura Award, which was named to honor the late Maura McNiel, founding president of the Women's Center and among the founders of Texas Women's Foundation, who set a standard of passion, spirit and commitment for women's issues. For 44 years, The Maura Women Helping Women Award has recognized those who have led the way in improving the lives of women and girls. Dr. Desilva is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Division of Gynecology at UT Southwestern. A specialist in pediatric-adolescent gynecology, her clinical practice is at Children’s Health.
